About author

I got to know friction stir welding (FSW) as a part of my master's studies curriculum. I got really interested in it and in the end I wrote my master's thesis at Brno University of Technology on this new promising technology. Based on the thesis and results of the final state exams I was honoured with Master's with Distinction degree.

Nevertheless there is still a lot I have to learn about the technology and its application in aircraft (and other) structures. I will stay tuned on the frequency of the latest papers published and share the eventual breakthroughs on this website.

This is my education record:

Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic
Masters with Distinction in Aeronautical Engineering
October 2003 – June 2009

University of Otago, New Zealand
Student Intern at Physics Department
June 2008 – December 2008

University of Glasgow, United Kingdom
Exchange Programme at Department of Aerospace Engineering
September 2007 – June 2008

I've also been involved in international student organisation BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) where I like to deliver soft-skills trainings (mainly presentation skills and communication) as well as fundraising trainings and used to be highly involved in international fundraising and used to coordinate Grants Working Group which has helped the organisation to be awarded with an European Commision grant.
